About Colored Tags
Colored Tags, as the name suggests, is a plugin that allows you to add color to your tags. It is an easy-to-use module that you can get started with easily. All you need to do once you install is to modify its settings in the config.yml file, and you’ll be all set up.
There aren’t too many features in this plugin, and even if it doesn’t receive support anymore, some people may still find it useful. So read below to learn what you can do to get started with it.
Requirements and Compatibility
Colored Tags needs Vault and a permissions plugin (any permissions plugin, like PermissionsEx or bPermissions) to work properly. Furthermore, the plugin isn’t maintained anymore, so we cannot guarantee that it will work in recent Minecraft versions.
It is known to work in the following Minecraft versions: 1.61, 1.6.2, 1.7.4, and 1.11. Although it is possible for it to work in other versions, it may cause other issues or not work at all. However, you can proceed to install it if you want to test it despite this fact.
How to Install
You can install this plugin by following the common plugin installation process. These are the steps you need to follow:
- Download the plugin.
- Include it in your server’s plugins folder.
- Once done, please proceed to restart the server.
- And that’s it! You can start setting up the plugin to make it act according to your preferences.
How to use Colored Tags
If you want to get started with Colored Tags, you can follow this tutorial despite what we’ve said above.
Firstly, you’ll need to open the config.yml file. It will display the following settings.
Fix-death-messages: true – Keep it as “tru2 if you want death messages to be fixed. Thus, these messages will not show prefixes or suffixes.
Change-tab-names: true – If “true,” the plugin will change tab names if required. Other plugins may override this setting, however.
Refresh-every-minute: false – You can use this value if the permissions are changed often or if you have plugins that use teams or groups.
Update-notification: true – This plugin will check if there are updates available. It doesn’t have any performance repercussions, but you can set it to “false” if you want to disable it.
Creating group and individual prefixes and suffixes
Go to the groups.yml file and open it. It will display the default prefixes and suffixes for the common permission groups, as shown in the example below:
User: ‘&f[&9User&f] ‘
It is possible for it to display other prefixes and suffixes based on your permissions plugin. However, please note that you will be able to use any color or formatting code you want. Keep in mind that prefixes and suffixes have a limit of 16 characters, color codes included.
If what you want is to create new prefixes or suffixes, here’s what you need to do. Let’s say you want it for the builders group. You’ll need to type this line to the file: builder: ‘PREFIX <name> SUFFIX’.
You can add color by writing, for instance, builder: ‘&c’.
Are you looking forward to creating an individual prefix or suffix? Then, go to the players.yml file and add new lines as explained above.Download Colored Tags Now
